The EU's Interreg Europe program was presented in the Khmelnytskyi region

One of the prerequisites for EU accession is the experience of Ukraine’s regional and local authorities in working with European programs and partners in accordance with EU project management standards. In Ukraine, this issue is particularly relevant given the need to draw on expertise and funding sources for ongoing and post-war reconstruction of all regions.

Therefore, The Ukrainian Institute of International Politics, in cooperation with the Department for Coordination of International Technical Assistance of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and with the support of the European Union and the International Renaissance Foundation, has launched the project “Support for the Launch of the Interreg Europe/URBACT Program in Ukraine.”

The EU's Interreg Europe program was presented in the Khmelnytskyi region

As part of this project, a presentation on the EU’s Interreg Europe program was held in Khmelnytskyi: its features, communication, and keys to success. The goal of the presentation was to raise awareness among executive authorities and and local self-government bodies regarding participation in the EU’s Interreg Europe and URBACT, and to strengthen the human and organizational capacity of government bodies.

“Today, we are all working under very difficult conditions, and international support is the primary tool that we must take full advantage of. That is why the regional military administration fully supports such projects, since their implementation provides an opportunity to develop not only the region but also our country as a whole,” — said Oksana Vzheshnevska, Chief of Staff of the Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration, addressing the event participants.

During the meeting, the organizers presented the EU Interreg Europe programs: features, communication, and keys to success; and the EU’s URBACT program: features, communication, and keys to success. Tetyana Tytarchuk, a representative of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and Nadiya Afanasyeva, Director of the Ukrainian Institute for International Policy, Nadiya Afanasyeva, familiarized participants with the main features of the programs and opportunities for potential participants in “Interreg Europe.”
